Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I have the following data. I need to mash it together (using the left panel as indexes for the panel on the right).

This is what I would like for my result to look like (I need to create the following data from the previous data):

When I plug the left panel and right panel into list item, the data I get is this (which is very close, but the two trees on the second panel on the first screenshot are being treated as one tree):

Could you please point me in the right direction? I tried flip matrix but I could not figure out how to achieve what I wanted using it.

Thank you so much for your time.

Hello Philip,

Thank you so much for your help, it worked perfectly. I do not understand the dataMatch component you used. Is it a VB script you wrote? Does it inherit anything? Thank you so much! Any literature you would recommend on becoming more familiar with dealing with how data is (should be) taken care of in grasshopper?

Hi,

yes it basically does what´s shown above inside a Vb component. Meaning it will copy all data one level up to make sure you will always pick from the right values. As automatic matching in GH is list based, you will obtain a different result if you do not do this step.

In general I guess the best literature is this forum. Here a re some interesting discussions that may help you understand the fundamentals.

Best, p
