algorithmic modeling for Rhino
I am using the custom preview component to color the faces of a mesh. The preview shows some reflection. I can achieve a more matte look if I bake with color attributes and adjust display settings, but I would like to capture images of the previews without baking. Is there a way to get rid of this reflection in previews? (See brighter area at center of mesh in attached images).

If you're plugging a colour directly into the Shader input of the Custom Display component, then you'll get some shine on it. If you want to create a diffuse material only, you have to create a custom shader. Also if you want to create a flat colour (i.e. independent of lighting) a custom shader is needed.
