Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I'm a grasshopper fresher and would like to know how to write a basic script which would

1. Place a straight line with an adjustable length at adjustable intervals along a series of contour lines

2. These intersecting lines would be perpendicular to the tangent at the particular point of the contour.

Thank you.

Kind of like this...

By "perpendicular to the tangent at the particular point of the contour", do you mean the surface normal?

Later...  Can barely see your .pdf but it looks like you have something else in mind?

Thanks for your reply man. Hopefully this .pdf is easier to see. Basically, if I'm looking at the contours in plan, I want to be able to place a curve along intervals on the contour that are perpendicular to that point on the contour in the xy plane.

.pdf still isn't helping me much...  does your line go in two directions from each point?

Version 'b' rotates the tangent in the World XY plane at each point.  You get a different effect if you use the 'EvalSrf F (Frame)' output instead of 'World XY'...
