Cumulative measures for periods shorter than one year

Hi everyone,

I need to calculate illuminance levels for a two-week period. I am wondering if its possible to run Daysim for whole year and open the .ill file in excel and select the illuminance data for that two-week period and calculate daylight metrics (DA and UDI) manually. From what I know, a standard weather file is composed of 12 separate months of data each chosen to be an average month from the collected data; and Daysim processes one date and sky condition at a time. I am still a bit confused because I will be using the standard weather file with time series of solar irradiances over a whole year (I will not cut data from Daysim weather file *.wea), but instead, after running Daysim analysis, I will cut the illuminance values in the *.ill file to calculate metrics for a two-week period.

I`m wondering if it makes sense, has anyone tried this before?

This may not be the right place to post this question- I have read some posts in daysim discussion forum as well- but I would appreciate if anyone can give me any information. I`m not an expert in simulations, sorry if I`m asking something irrelevant.

Thanks

Zeynep
