algorithmic modeling for Rhino
single set with looping. Need to improve the chances of having achorpoint portal for multiple fierds from one portal.
trying to understand the rules
there is a region with two population of points which are the portals?
then amongst these points there are 0-8 special point which are resonators?doing what?
the portals can form links. which are the rules? distance based or?
when the portals (points) are linked there is a triangle created called field. are all the points inside the field neutralized (removed)?
Alex,
Correct, one region with a collection of points that can belong to one of two factions/teams (Green, blue).
Each point can have a special value (0..8) indicating the portal value. Only a portal with a value of 8 can be linked to another portal within faction. Links that form a triangle are called a field. Fields cannot cross over and links from either faction.
In the game there are distance rules. I did not envision using them. Only respect the don't cross links.
Fields cannot share a portal point. Only use their own portals. So I need to work on that in my attempt.
In my latest attempt I have eliminated the portal values and assumed all portals at 8.
I started over with generating a triangulated surface. See my previous post. I did include some point attractors, culling and timing elements to show a evolving field.
Not sure where I go with it. Ultimately I like to create a rendering / animation of it over a US map.
If I go crazy, I link it to a transaction database that tracks product purchases in the country. That is why the name battle of the brands.
With regards to my earlier attempts, I removed points within a field. My new attempt does not need to do that since the surface was triangulated.
Started over, came closer :)
Alex, do you see an easy way to avoid blue and green fields from touching? e.g. eliminating the green or blue that shave a corner?
should have said one or more corners. One could have an island in the opponents field.
Much closer
