cross latticed structure with sine wave

Hi all,

Becoming a regular and I really enjoy this community. I came across this building on archdaily today and thought it was really beautiful in detailing of its roof structure.

Do you know anyway to start this structure?

I believe it is a simple set of data trees top, copied and moved upwards, but how would I make the sine wave interweaving these two sets of data trees at 90 degree angles?

I'm not asking for a grasshopper file, just a hint in the right direction and I'll spend time figuring it out!
