Critical Points and Saddle Points of a Surface

This may be a mathematics question, but I'm constructing interpolated surfaces from xyz point data mapped over a grid. Is there a solution within grasshopper to find the critical and saddle points of an interpolated surface? I know of a work around for an approximated result, but I wanted to know if it was possible to get the exact result.
