Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

I'm attempting to create a GH definition that allows me to generate topo/contour lines from a Rhino mesh of the terrain at .5m increments. I stumbled upon this thread (http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/mesh-terrain-to-brep-part1) that seemed to somewhat achieve what I want... However, I haven't been able to use that GH definition successfully - thinking that the mesh in question is too complex.

I attached the Rhino file below - there are two meshes in the file and I'd like to create topo/contour lines for each one separately.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to either edit the aforementioned GH definition or how to create one from scratch that can achieve this? I'm still relatively new to GH, so apologies in advance if this is an obvious problem to fix - I'm personally a bit lost on how to proceed.

Running the [Contour] component on this mesh in Rhino WIP gives a result, although I would recommend moving your geometry closer to the world origin point (0,0,0). Meshes can be much coarser in their accuracy than nurbs geometry and this will lead to all sorts of rounding errors when the meshes are either very big, very small, or very far away from the origin.

Thank you so much! It looks like the reason why contour wasn't working in the first place was because it was too far away from the origin point. Silly oversight on my end. Thanks again, I really appreciate the help!
