Creating an opening in diagrid structure with an attractor point

Hi!

I am a beginner in grasshopper. I have a diagrid structure (from lunchbox) on a curved surface. I am trying to use an attractor point in order to make an opening in this structure, to make the diagrid vanish close to the attractor/repellent point.

I want to give thickness later to the structure beams (This I know how to do) but I would like to have a nice continuous change in geometry close to the entrance I want to create.

I am attaching the file, I hope someone can help me, because I have tried for a long time and I ran out of ideas.
