Creating a surface on a diagrid pattern

I have a diagrid structure and Im wanting to make a 4 pt surface between 4 points like the photo below but im having trouble trying to figure out how to pull the points forward for the ones I want to use to link them into a surface. I added a before photo of what my definition does, then added another on what I want. Thank you
