Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello everyone.

First of all I'm sorry if i'm not really good in explaining myself

I'm trying to model this bracelet with a voronoi texture on it.

I've made the most of the work and now I need to create the surfaces that connect the inner holes with the outer ones.

I've tried with Sweep (that doesn't work), with Ruled Surface and with Loft, but when (and if) i create the surfaces I need, they are not the right lenght.

It seems that the surface i obtain stops in the moment that touches the second curve.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks everyone for helping.

Bye bye

Fabrizio

You had all the necessary parts - just not in the right combination

Plus the Voronoi settings you had resulted in a tiny little area that cause problems, so I changed to a different seed value.

Thanks for posting this - I might try adapting it for 3D printing.  (Need a flat bottom to do that.)

Thanks Birk. I'll give it a look as soon as I get home. 3D printing it was my goal too so I think will be nice to compare our results. thanks you for your help

Hi (again) Fabrizio

Just wanted to let you know I made some fairly significant changes to your GH layout to see if I could get it into shape for 3D printing.  Here's an image of what I've come up with so far:

I know it's not the kind of shape you are interested in, but I wanted to stick with basic geometry I was familiar with.  The image is from my slicing program - Craftware (which I highly recommend.)

One thing you might want to try is replacing the Nurbs function that makes the Voronoi cells for a combination of PLine and Fillet. That's what I used for the above part; what it does is eliminate pointy cell corners that might occur. The pointy corners just didn't seem to fit the overall sense of the part.
