Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Can anyone shed light on clusters in terms of their syntax,  usefulness etc.
To me clusters seem to be equivalent to a feature in GC or a power copy in catia. Is there any documentation for clusters anywhere? Cheers

Clusters are currently in their initial release stage. They are currently not much more than a group of components, you can edit the cluster but not save it so that it updates, nor apply it across multiple instances. Eventually that is how they will work, like a symbol, xref or block. In the future you will be able to define a cluster, place it in multiple locations and if you want to make changes to the definition, it will update all instances of the cluster. They will basically allow for the creation of a user-defined library of editable GH definitions encapsulated in a single component representation.

Hi!

This is a very promising description of clusters, are they working like this already? :)

Thanks,

Eduardo

Well, I see this topic is now 2 years old - are clusters ready to go yet?  I've been trying to get them to work as I would think they should but haven't yet figured out how to get past the starting line...  Any new documentation on clusters, if they're working now?  thanks!

Ah!  Ok, couldn't find the documentation, but lucked upon the solution to how I was trying to use them...  The cluster input / outputs need to be within the cluster definition in order to use them in the external gh def...  Got it.  : )
