algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hello everyone,
I hope 1 of you can help me with a solution for a problem i encounter.
In the company i work we make use of the Ipad+structure scanner to scan feet. With these scans we are able to make custom lasts for shoe manufacturing.
The problem is that the quality of the scans is good enough, but the scans need a lot of cleaning before we can use these in rhino. See scan file. The scan seems layered and we only need the outer layer.
Right now we open the scan file in rhino. we select the parts we need (the background of the foot is also scanned). Then we import this in meshmixer (free autocad program) to remove the not needed meshes. This program does this by making it "solid".
I want to build a algorithm which does the clean up for me and within grasshopper and rhino so we don’t have to switch programs, so i can speed up this process.
Any idea where to start?
I've added an example file as well.
Thanks Reinder
