Circle Pattern Matching

Hi all,

I have a question about being able to find certain patterns within a set of circles. I have a set of circles with 3 different radii on a regular, triangular grid. I am trying to find a way to group circles of similar radii with a predefined pattern. In the example i am working on, the pattern type is a hexagon, which would include 7 circles in each group. It would be important for groups not to share circles with other groups, but it is not important to find an optimized or maximum set of groups within any one set.

I started to experiment a bit with using the Closest Point component and finding the known distances between individual circles, but I am unsure of how I would remove circles that have already been included in a group. Does anyone have any ideas?
