algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello to all,

I'm trying to develop a pattern for a threedimensional tessellation.

How can I join the vertices of all the octagons and squares with their vertices, without making all the vertices join each others?

Maybe it's very easy, but I don't know what to do...!
