algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi

Maybe a dumb question but is it possible to call a gh user object in python the same way we can call ghcomp?

That's a bummer.

The idea is to have a few clusters in my library with the same inputs and outputs but obviously different content... What I want to achieve  is change them dynamically without a need of re routing everything.

Maybe some other approach?

Hi Tom

Third option is out of the table (at least for now)...we're talking about replacing this centre cluster (around 500 components)

I have no experience in C#...all I've got is a "poor man" Python scripting skills.

In ideal world I'd have referenced  user object with a path which I could simply replace and re run solution.

Yes I know it's a mess...it started pretty simple but after 2 years of adding functionality became this little monster. At the moment I'm taking a good amount on time (as you suggested) to re write and optimise sections of it into simple python components. The centre bit isn't urgent but I need to start thinking what to do with it in the near future (2-3 months) that's why I'm asking.

Speaking of debugging, personally I actually prefer to look at this "mess" than the bunch of code (I have no programming background) I work with this definition every day so there is no "2 month later" issue.

Your idea of having tables of numeric values is what I currently use to modify this centre cluster but it got to the point when it would be easier to just "swap" it with another one hence my idea.

For now I'll continue cleaning up this mess but if you come up with some magic solution for it I'd even get on the plane to buy you a beer or two :D
