Brick Wall

Hi! Im trying to make a brick wall from a lofted surface. Right now I'm approaching it by dividing the lofted surface into curves then placing the bricks along that divided curve. Is there a better way to do this and still achieve gaps in between the bricks in the course? Thanks!
