algorithmic modeling for Rhino
One of the issues (a good thing) with parametric models, is its very easy to generate surfaces / meshes / etc. without thinking on the micro level (Mesh facets for example).
I generated a model with one mesh XY plane (100 facets) and a number of cone meshs (192 facets each). Thats a small number of "objects". My machine can handle it. :)
I wanted to do a Boolean Difference but, with 773,476 facets, that resulted in almost 600,000,000,000 possible facet intersections. Oooops. I now understand why the strange results, Rhino crashes, etc. etc.
So, in the future, I'll be doing my Boolean operations in small batches.
I didn't figure this out. The fine people at Rhino support did (thanks John).
