beginner help - offset based on attractor curve

hi there,

I'm using a script clearly explained on the following website (kudos to the writer for clarity!):

and I'd like to modify it so that:

1. the tiles do not change size based on the attractor but rather offset further and further away based on the attractor and do not resize! i've tried myself by using the offset srf component and seem to be having trouble. 

2. i'd like to be able to create (and adjust... number slider!) spacing between the tiles as if there were mortar, and loft the result of the definition again as if they were tiles with a slight bevel.

hoping someone can help! should be super simple, but i'm just a beginner...

P.S. no need for a rhino file... just make a curve and you'll see it.
