automatic slider maximum

hello,

can i achieve an automatic slider maximum somehow. i need it for galapagos which is only used in the middle of a script so sometimes it works on 50 values and sometimes on 200. anyhow i can only set the slider manually to a maximum and it would be nice to set it to the list length so one time it would be 0-50 and the other time 0-200.
