Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey everyone,

So I have this one component where I'm trying to have it aggregate to create an overall structure. We have to fabricate (cast) this thing in the end so I'm trying to limit the amount of unique parts we create.

I started using the morph box function but I'm not sure how much control this gives us. I'm wondering if there is a way to evaluate the structure at the end to know how many unique parts there are. or if there is a way to array a single component and have it only change a certain amount of times to create a variable surface.

the first screen shot is the grasshopper script and the second screen shot is how the components are supposed to aggregate.

I've attached the rhino component model and the grasshopper script.

Unfortunately..

Box Morph component does not guarantee the original form and size exactly..

because it is just a linear transform from source box to target box (twisted in this case)..

So, if the base curve is free-form in your definition,

only the vertical cells have the same parts..
