algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello I am interested in calculating the weight for some of my projects.

I would love to be able to create a script / simple plugin that allowed the user to take an object (a box), apply some sort of material attribute to it (steel) from a dropdown menu, and then the script would calculate its weight or possibly other attributes.

What is the best language/approach for something like this? It's been difficult to figure out in straight Rhinoscript so maybe someone else could help me out.

Thanks!

Seems like all you need is a Volume or Area component and a Multiplication component. No custom code required.

You'll need to make sure your units are all correct of course, otherwise you get answers as though you're measuring cubic meters instead of cubic millimeters.
