algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I am able to calculate the angle between a panel and the preceding panel,

and I am outputting the deviation in degrees (if the panels are coplanar the deviation is zero)

But I would like to define one type of fold as positive(in), and the other as negative(out)

Is there an alternative way of calculating the angle to achieve that?

I solved it by getting the end points of extended segments and checking for inclusion.

This method only works if it's a closed shape, and is probably more cpu-expensive.
