algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hey guys,
I am relatively new to the whole world of Triply Periodic minimization. My research is based on flow through porous media modeling. To successfully carry out my research, two things are required;
1. I use the real pore shapes/grains in my CFD simulation(NOT regular ideal shapes)
2. And my porous structure MUST be periodic.
I've been looking for ways to marry these two conditions and then I suddenly stumbled upon TPMS a few days ago. My question is that, is it logically possible to find a way to minimize the surfaces of my sample REV(attached) at say different points and then generate any TPMS shape based on those points; and the final TPMS would then have similar properties to the original sample like porosity?
What I've seen so far from literature are minimal surface generated arbitrarily from mathematical models like Enneper-Weierstrass integration etc.
In summary, would there be a way to generate TPMS from PREEXISTING surfaces like my attached image instead of from mathematical models?
Thanks
Samuel Fagbemi
