Adjusting a hexagon grid with guidelines

Hello,

i want to know, if there is a way, to adjust a grid from guidelines? I tired many things but nothing worked.

The picture shows the principe, but it´s just a warped Photoshop edited picture.

I want to adjust the spaces between the hexagons and not the scale/warp of the hexagons.

Any ideas? Thank you for help.

So the input would be a bunch of points in space and a line to which they ought to be moved?

The [Spatial Deform] component kinda sorta does this, but it's hard to control the falloff of each pull operation. Still, it may get you started. Also there's a custom spatial deform component which accepts an expression as the falloff equation, but I'm not sure any mathematical expression is going to do what you're after.
