Adding Vertices (Points) to Mesh

What I have is a site that is made up of contour curves.  From the control points on those curves I have created a Dalaunay Mesh.  Then I have assigned curves to act as attractor curves to move certain regions of the site up or down.  The result is what I want except it is not at all smooth because the curves it is referencing are only from the curves to make the mesh.  Ideally what I want to do is take the mesh I made using the contour line points and spread many more points across the entire mesh so the attractor curves would have a more precise effect on the mesh.  I have tried adding a ton more control points to the curves but the problem is that there are still no points between these curves on the mesh.  Maybe there is a better way to do this, I am not sure.
