A Computationally Lighter Region Union?

Hi All, 

A bit of a random one, but does anyone have a way around using the region union?

I am trying to region 16,000 closed curves. the tool work perfectly except my machine can handle it.

I tried to do it iteratively but to no avail.

all thoughts welcome
