3d repetitive object query

Dear all,

I'm having some trouble using Grasshopper to create a route where a series of options can be put in place to create different progressive objects through the same base plan. I am having no problem creating some interesting surfaces with this programme, but when it comes to 3d component modelling (to want of a better expression) I'm having some difficulty. I have attached three pictures which explain what I'm trying to achieve. They explain my initial plan, and once I have got head my head around how to do this I should be ok.
