3D Proximity Tool Pipe

So I am trying to essentially wrap piping around any object I please for an appealing look. 

I thought about doing so this way, however for every single pipe, it appears as though there are two with it, making a boolean union in Rhino Impossible. How do I go about culling the other pipe? Is there an easier way to make a wrap around pipe? Thanks in advance!
