Event Description

This is an intensive immersion into the Rhino plug-ins that takes the code-writing out of parametric design and Arduino electronics.  Firefly is a set of comprehensive software tools dedicated to bridging the gap between Grasshopper, the Arduino micro-controller, the internet and beyond. It allows near real-time data flow between the digital and physical worlds, and will read/write data to/from internet feeds, remote sensors and more. Workshop participants will be guided in building responsive structures.

Andrew Payne of LiftArchitects wrote the 150 page Grasshopper manual (for fun on his own time!) is pursuing a doctorate at Harvard University and Jason K Johnson of Future Cities Lab teaches at California College of the Arts.
