Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Digging out a 4 years old project I would like to share: Connecting Grasshopper to PureData to create interesting sounds.

Experimental audio interface for the analysis of virtual shapes. Graphical user interface and surface analysis made in Rhino/Grasshopper. Sound made in Puredata.

Hi Nerip,

there were several channels for Puredata to read (Curvature/ UV-Position/ ...) which were precalculated by GRasshopper and read by Puredata.

So Puredata transformed the channels to diffentent frequencies/ amplitudes / ... and made them audible.

hi how do you do it actually?

Nice, I have had always in mind to connect sometime my architectural geometries to sound and listen to them. Its still a simple example that you show, but inspiring! Would be interesting to have an interdisciplinary approach to this. Music design combined with architectural design.
