Hexagonal Openings

Hi,

I am trying to recreate Hyoung-Gul Kook's definition for hexagonal openings for a university assignment creating a seating sculpture. I have been able to create both hexagonal meshes but am struggling with the rest. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
