unrecognizable grasshopper installer plzzz help

Hi everyone

I recently found out a weird issue of installing updated version of grasshopper for rhino 5

when download is completed, the installer appears as a like shortcut not an actual installer file, and my laptop works pretty fine. I dont know what happened to my desktop, either there is something wrong of my rhino? or maybe my desktop miss some kind program updates? I have tried so many ways and could not get it work.

can any experts help me out? plz see the attachment of the screen shot of unreadable grasshopper installer.

If it looks like a shortcut, could it be that the download failed?

If it is a file after all, how big is it?

hi David ,

it is not download failed, i actually keep the installer file in my external hard drive, once it hooks up with my laptop it does show as a normal icon(i mean grasshopper installer setup) but it just view as a short cut, I have no idea of why. I think maybe recover my computer entire system which probably would work, but I just did couple months ago. =.='

have you ever seen that kind of issue before?
