Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello,

I'm  after some helping importing an excel spread sheet into grasshopper please.

I've set up an excel spread sheet with x,y,z co-ordinates and am trying to use gHowl to bring them in as points. I'm just learning grasshopper and am not sure if I need to use the spread sheet reader of the xml component.  I've down loaded the extra spreadsheet file but it's having trouble reading the spreadsheet (text box looks like wing dings)

Any help would be greatly appreciated

cheers

Hi cait,

You did not attach your spreadsheet file so I am not sure how it looks like.

Take look at the file Excel file I attached.

In the first column there are X coordinates of points. In the second Y, in the third Z.

Use the .gh definition attached:

Bear in mind you need Excel 2007 format (not 2003) - .xlsx not .xls

Is there a point-count limit?

I have about 150000 points I want to load from a excel spreadsheet, but GH is crashing all the time...

Not sure about the point limit.
You might try using Rhino 5 instead of 4.

the same :(

Djordje, that worked perfectly thank you so much!. I wasn't including all the flip and bang components.

I really appreciate your help

thanks again
