algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Parameterization and physical dimensions are not particularly related. They don't need to have the same magnitude or progression. It is true that when a surface is created, the parameter space is usually picked to reflect the physical size, because *some* number has to be chosen.
However you're not measuring the surface domain, you're measuring the estimated length along the U and V directions. This metric is fuzzy as most surfaces have varying lengths and I actually don't know how Rhino determines the length estimates.
One possible explanation is that your surfaces are trimmed and they extend beyond the trims, which might interfere with the estimates. Newer versions of GH are better at creating clean surfaces from rectangles. Which version do you have and can you test whether your surfaces are trimmed?
