Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I'm using GH to make some figures for a presentation and I wanted to make a surface appear as a particular color (read: specific RGB value). I entered the R,G,B in a Panel and put that into the appearance of a Custom Preview element. However the colors in the viewport don't exactly match the provided RGB. In fact, they are subtle, but still noticeably different shades.

Anyone else have this issue? Is there a workaround?

Custom preview actually involves some shading as well. You have a couple options to display precise RGB values:

1. convert your geometry to a mesh and use "Mesh Colours" to color it precisely - no shading will be applied.

2. Create a custom material with your specified color as the emissive channel and all other channels as pure black - then feed this color into the custom preview component. This will also prevent shading from being applied.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot!
