Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

I'm working with HB. After the simulation with 000_gettingStarted_with_honeybee I've checked the .bat file to see what I did with Radiance. Here I've found something that for me (a newbie of this world) appear strange, that is the rpict command run two times with the same parameters to obtain the same output (.unf).

I can't understand the usefulness of this step. Why HB works in this manner?

Thanks for your help,

Giuseppe.

Hi Giuseppe,

This is called "overture". Check John Mardaljevic's slides (62-67) for a really good explanation about what is overture and why it helps for a better rendering with Radiance: http://www.radiance-online.org/community/workshops/2011-berkeley-ca...

Hope it helps,

Mostapha

Hi Mostapha,

Very helpful information, as always. Thank you for the slides.

Regards,

Giuseppe
