algorithmic modeling for Rhino
I am currently working on developing a thesis which deals with simulation of auxetic structures, eventually leading into physical prototyping and actuation through the use of arduino. I have been doing quite a bit of research, but I was wondering if anyone was currently working on simulating auxetics (2d or 3d) using Kangaroo. I will post some of my current progress later this week. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm trying to gather as many resources as I can!

Daniel,
Sounds interesting. I know that some of the faculty at USC Architecture Building Sciences are interested in similar topics, though I don't know if any of the Masters or Ph.D. candidates are working on similar theses this year. You should contact Doug Noble or Anders Carlson (http://arch.usc.edu/people) and ask if anyone there is working along similar lines of inquiry. Even if not, they might know good resources for you.
Hi Daniel,
Here's a definition for simulating a simple auxetic structure:
Treating them as linkages can be quite simple, but I think a lot of the complexity in simulation will relate to the stiffness of the connections, which will depend very much on how they are made.
I hope that helps with getting started, feel free to ask more questions.
Thanks so much for the assistance! I'll be posting some progress soon.
