Acadia 2009 Grasshopper Workshops at School of The Art Institute of Chicago

October 19, 2009 at 9am to October 21, 2009 at 6pm
Workshops by David Rutten, Gil Akos and Ronnie Parsons will be conducted at Acadia 2009. Workshops range from Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Grasshopper. There also should be plenty of time to meet and discuss the future of Grasshopper with David.

"x, we are all beginners at some point. Don't sweat it! The good things is that there are many people in the same boat...in a bit, you will start to help others as well! As for drag and dropping...on a pc, you can drag and drop an rhp (plugin)…"

"x...have you tried the Bake button? It looks like a fried egg? This creates the geometry in Rhino. You can continue to manipulate it in Rhino, but it will loose all associativity."

"If you close Grasshopper, yes, the GH geometry will disapear. You either need to minimize GH or double click on the title bar. This way GH is still open, but you will not see the canvas. I am not sure about Paneling tools, maybe it only works now…"

"I am closing Grasshopper and what is on my screen disappears. How do I make it stay once grasshopper is closed? I thought the same thing about loading the paneling tools but when I go to install the plugin it says I need to download the latest…"

"From paneling tools page: the latest build of PanelingTools Plug-in (June 8, 2009), toolbars and syntaxml for scripting. Runs with Rhino 4.0 SR5 So it should work with SR5 How do you get it to stay on the screen once its closed? Are you closing it…"

RUNNING A DEFINITION

After creating a definition in Grasshopper, how do you get the definition to stay on the screen once it is closed? In monkey you run the script and it is there. I need help I am new to grasshopper. I also need the old paneling tools the set that will work with Rhino SR5 I do not have SR5b and I can not get it. Please help
