"Djordje, I manage to get rid of the requirement that all of the vertices lie on a circle. Given 5 points the first part of the definition creates a non self-intersecting polygon. thought I would share in case you were interested. thanks…"

"Thank you for the kinds words Jon.Thank David Rutten, he created Grasshopper and Galapagos.Getting diverse combinations of your shape could probably be achieved using Octopus. instead of Galapagos:Try the same definition with Octopus solver instead…"

"djordje, I believe I now understand how you set this up and I have to say it is genius. Thanks. I thought that Galapagos might be the way to go for this problem but I could not figure out how to deal with more than one requirement. The way that you…"

"Thanks djordje. I am still trying to understand how the grasshopper setup works. I noticed that no matter how I change the sliders the solver always seems to find almost the same shape. I guess that's because there is one optimal solution?…"

"This looks like an ideal job for Galapagos. Or even Octopus. The second one would probably give you a couple of different choices, but I do not own a Rhino 5 so can not test it (Octopus currently works on Rhino 5 only). Here is the Galapagos…"

if you can give me an exe that wants input either from a file or from stdin and outputs in a file or in stdout then i can do the rest (providing i can properly understand the input and the output formats). i'll see what ma math wiz friend has to say also.

jon, probably tbe thing needs proper compiling so as to accept the input from the command line and to shout things out in stdout, but my experience is quite limited in this way - i haven't properly compiled anything in c++ since 4 years. actually that's what set me back. anyway, keep me posted, and if you need any help i can at least promise to look through it.

hey jon,
about a cgal link - i've been thinking of it actually before qhull - but the latter proved more accessible. in a way, you/we should get an .exe from the code doing just that and then call it from gh just like qhull. it should work, but in a way i'm a bit bugged up right now. what can i say? it's definitively on my summer's to do list.
