bake pwidths based on distance for orthographic elevation?

Im using Giulio Piacentino bake attributes component to get pwidths and I'm wondering if there is a way to set up a distance parameter and bake pwidths for an elevation. I tried it and came up…Continue

I just started using Grasshopper when I did this. In fact, I was unable to take any classes at my school so I taught myself during break. When thesis semester started, my teachers and classmates…Continue

The only object-property-baking I have is Giulio Piacentino's component and Lunchbox.Object: ModeColorBaking (level 1){  Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. …Continue

"This won't help you much if you are looking for a vector output, but if have Brazil for Rhino you can use GH to bake vertex colors into meshes that represent widths as a greyscale gradient and then use Brazil's…"

Pwidths based on distance

I was wondering if someone can improve on this idea of line weights that are controlled by distance. I started by extracting a wireframe and then resorting the lines in grasshopper acending in the x direction. Then I grouped by color using Ghowl and an excell file and baked the lines. In rhino, I grouped each color into a layer and made2d with the surfaces so that the lines will trim. The problem is that this method doesn't work with tangent lines or lines that touch the surface edges. It also…See More

bake pwidths based on distance for orthographic elevation?

Im using Giulio Piacentino bake attributes component to get pwidths and I'm wondering if there is a way to set up a distance parameter and bake pwidths for an elevation. I tried it and came up successful in the layer "lines" but was left with a huge wire-frame mess. Thinking that i can make2d with the surfaces on, I tried to make2d again but the layer "lines" did not show up throughout the elevation. Ultimately, I want to end up with a flat drawing with thick pwidths indicating what's close and…See More

"Your input surface is a trimmed surface, this is why isotrim searchs the orignal size. just create a new surface by the edges. this is one possibility. Best Regards DeDackel"

Paul Castellanos replied to Paul Castellanos's discussion isotrim
"it did not work. it divides the surface by half, by each increasing integer. i can bake it and then scale1D to get the real 5' size but I want to maintain it as grasshopper geometry and not have to keep baking and relinking the baked geometry."

isotrim

how can i use isotrim to get a specified division of 5'x5' panels. I know how to divide a surface using divide interval squared, but I don't know how to set it by a dimension that I need.See More
