Hello everyone,I have a definition that was working properly, but now I'm having trouble...I think I reconnecting some of the components incorrectly, and now it is unable to read the new mesh. I…Continue

Trouble with Mesh Relaxation in Kangaroo

Hello everyone, I'm kind of in a pickle here. I don't know grasshopper that well, and I certainly don't know kangaroo, but I'm trying to work off Daniel Piker's definition: …Continue

planar surface from more than four points?

Hello,I'm quite new to Grasshopper, so this might seem like a simple question... But is there a component that creates a planar surface from more than four points? Or alternatively, from a closed…Continue

culling out specific mesh faces

Hello everyone,I have a definition that was working properly, but now I'm having trouble...I think I reconnecting some of the components incorrectly, and now it is unable to read the new mesh. I think it has something to do with the polyline component which is creating input to the planar surf component. Can anyone help please?!See More

"Oops, my mistake - sorry. I think I must have mixed up the 'refine mesh' and 'jagged seams' when typing that. Thanks for picking this up Hannes"

"Hannes, you are absolutely right. It works perfectly fine with the "jagged seams" unchecked. I'm not sure why Daniel suggested to set this option to true. In either case, thanks a lot for taking a look at this!"

Hannes Löschke replied to Miroslava's discussion naked edges_problems with welding meshes properly_HELP!
"Did you try not to check "jagged edge"? I don't know Daniels logic behind his suggestion, but I can recreate his own perfectly joined mesh only with this option set to false. Set it to true and the vertices at the edge will no longer…"

naked edges_problems with welding meshes properly_HELP!

Please, I really hope someone can help me with this. It's for a studio project and I don't have much time. I'm not sure why, but I'm having serious trouble with welding my meshes, and as a result, I'm unable to run it through kangaroo and then test it for solar isolation later on...I've spent hours trying to figure this out, but I'm out of ideas. I posted something about mesh relaxation in kangaroo a few days ago:  …See More

"Thanks so much Daniel! It worked beautifully!    I will see if I have more trouble with welding the meshes in the next few generations, but it looks like it should be pretty easy.   I also tried to work at it in a slightly different…"

Daniel Piker replied to Miroslava's discussion Trouble with Mesh Relaxation in Kangaroo
"It's all to do with how the surface is meshed by Rhino. Try setting jagged seams to true, and maximum edge length to 2. Then triangulate it. This way it is easier to make sure the mesh is all joined properly along the seams, and more even…"

Trouble with Mesh Relaxation in Kangaroo

Hello everyone, I'm kind of in a pickle here. I don't know grasshopper that well, and I certainly don't know kangaroo, but I'm trying to work off Daniel Piker's definition: http://vimeo.com/27484394Attached is my starting rhino file and the gh definition that Daniel is using (I've added few other things...) It seems like it should work, but I think the problem is with the way my meshes are joined - the planar octagon with the cylindrical…See More

"Hi Miroslava, you can create a Planar Surface (in the surface > freeform tab) from a closed planar polyline."
