Im in serious need of a grasshopper samaritan....I have a set of surfaces I would like to remove from a larger surface but I always get the error "intersection set is empty" or it produces a surface…Continue

How to divide numbers within domain????

Hi,Does anyone know how to divide each number in a domain? e.g so if the domain was [2.0 to 10.0] but I wanted the numbers to be a fraction of 1 I would divide each number by 10 and get [0.2 to…Continue

Random generates extra vertices?????

Hi All,I'm having a bit of trouble with the random function. Im trying to move some points randomly but when using the random function it generates R number of extra points for the first row. Does…Continue

I've forwarded your question to David Rutten, the developer of the region component and Grasshopper data flow. He can tell more about the data tree structure that is applicable to this case. Rhino exposes this functionality in another manner…

Hi Giulio, I hadn't thought of creating a singular surface and splitting it, thank you very much! This solution will work perfectly for now. I need to apply my definition to a decent number of surfaces so I still need to crack the region…

I find it difficult to "explain" which parts to choose, too. This is a possible working way (see attached). With booleans I normally suggest students that it might take less time to just select the pieces manually, rather than trying to…

Mickey replied to Mitch Heynick's discussion 'Curve Boolean - Region Difference'
Hi Mitch, I'm having this very problem, and its taken me about 8hours to find your post. I thought I had restructured my data correctly but I realise I have actually just flattened my list. Would you be able to tell me how my data should look.…

Mickey replied to Mickey's discussion 'runtime error: "intersection set is empty"'
Hi Giulio, Thank you for your help. Unfortunately what I'm after is the opposite of your solution so instead of a region intersection I need a region difference. However if I replace this function in the definition you sent me I end up with…

Hi Mickey, is it possible that you are looking for a planar region intersection? Have a look at the attached definition with just two components changed. - Giulio _______________ giulio@mcneel.com McNeel Europe, Barcelona

runtime error: "intersection set is empty"

Im in serious need of a grasshopper samaritan....I have a set of surfaces I would like to remove from a larger surface but I always get the error "intersection set is empty" or it produces a surface with just one of the smaller surfaces removed instead of all of them.  If anyone could help me I would be very grateful!!See More

Mickey replied to Federico Escobar Salas's discussion 'Voronoi tesselation on surface'
Hi All, Not 100% related to the topic but I'm sure someone knows the answer. Ive tried to build curves from the control points of my offset voronoi diagram but the curves its outputting have corners. Anyone know how to get rid of these?

Andrei, I can't get your definition to work :( My panel viewer shows different numbers to yours even though I'm sure I followed it exactly, any ideas??

Thanks Matt, I'm kinda glad to know there wasn't just a ticky box I was missing but unfortunately I need a parametric solution. Perhaps someone could help me solve this problem from happening in the first place. I have my data organised…

What do the terms 'floor' and 'ceiling' mean, can't find it anywhere in the help file!!! How could I manipulate the follow data to be: {0;1-10;C} with the (n) unchanged?? so that I end up with 10 sets???

Hi Mickey,

Yes, I deleted that definition on my blog when I renew the site. ( because it came out of previous GH version.) But the logic is same and will be helpful for you even though it is on different version. I'll upload it again tonight.
