Hi David, Thanks for the reply. This topic was more a point of interest. I like using gh for the visual feedback with the model where i can visually make object selections, but then want to use some of my .rvb scripts on those selections. thanks

Hi Ian, I doubt there's a better way. You could use the Clipboard for communication, but that has all kinds of awkward side-effects. Are you experiencing performance problem with your current solution, or is this just a point of…

gh to rhinocript communication

Is there a way To have grasshopper information directly accessible To rhinoscript? other than writing to a text file from grasshopper and then reading that text file in rhinoscript? For example: i'm sending (GUID)object identifiers from grasshopper to a text file and then reading that text file in rhinoscript. I'm wondering if there's a more direct method, maybe firefly but i'm not very familiar with it yet.thanks for any suggestions!See More

I think that gets you the position of the target point, not the camera. I can't seem to find how to get the camera position directly on the mrhinoviewport class (it has to be there, just like the target). But it's easy to find it on the…

Yes, you'll just need to do it through a scripting component. The following line should do it in a standard scripting component. Note this takes the camera position from the active viewport. A = app.ActiveView.ActiveViewport.Target

camera position

is it possible to connect the current camera view's coordinates to a component in grasshopper? i'd like to dynamically grab the distance of the current view to an object(s).in rhinoscript it would be done using 'rhino.viewCamera' which would return a coordinate, from which i could obtain the distance to an object. i just can't figure out the equivalent in grasshopper.. thanks for any tips!See More
