I'm still puzzled by this error as Grasshopper should not use the clipboard at all unless you press Ctrl+C. I suppose now we'll never know what really went wrong.

the message on the window is exactly what went wrong. It's a bit peculiar that this happens on Grasshopper start, as I didn't think any clipboard interaction was needed during load.
