Using number text objects for making a list

Hi there, I'm wondering if there's any way I can take a bunch of text object numbers from rhino and use them as a list of integers in grasshopper.I basically have a site model to make with several hundred blocks that would have to be extruded to specific heigths. the height numbers are given as a text object in the center of each one of the blocks in the floorplan... Hoping I could use grasshopper to save some time, but it might be a job for rhino script maybe. I might add that I just tried re-installing grasshopper and installing an earlier version of grasshopper and it didn't work (I was using the WIP build) and it didn't work either... thanks

thanks for your reply david, I actually don't have any code, I was just starting to learn it...I just opened grasshopper and opened a vb.net window with nothing in it. should I try reinstalling grasshopper? thanks

Hi Benjamin, it's probably a bug in the QWhale autocomplete logic. Sometimes it doesn't understand an otherwise valid VB statement and the autocomplete just shuts down. Can you post your script code so I can see if I can repeat it…

Alternative you can use "x/y" as the expression, but the color codes of the components will change (imo for the worse).

One tacky way of doing it: As much as i like trying to solve things using the available components, sometimes for practical purposes nothing beats a few lines of code in scripting component.
