"Hi Anne, I coded up a small VB script that creates a sequence based on your formula. I probably did it wrong but it might get you started. Double-Click the script component to see (and change) the code. -- David Rutten david@mcneel.com Seattle, WA"

Latitude Longitude grid/mesh on sphere

Hi all,This might be more of a mathematical question than a GH-technique question, but I'll try anyway:I would like to construct a latitude-longitude-grid on a sphere. [As I understand it, unlike the default mesh on a sphere in Rhino/Grasshopper], the lat-lon-grid has quasi-uniform grid spacing, so that every given rectangle on the grid approximates a square. The approximated squares gets infinitely small at the poles, but continues to be approximated squares rather than rectangles. In my…See More

"Use four "point oriented" components to create corners from the resulting plane, and then make a four point surface. So, for example, if you want a square surface your point uvw coordinates would be: 2,2,0 2,-2,0 -2,-2,0 -2,2,0"

Tangent Plane

Hi, I am new to GH, so this is a very simple question:I am trying to create a surface which is tangent to a sphere on a givenpoint. I have succeeded in creating a plane like that, but when turningthe plane into a surface, it is automatically placed with its corner -rather than center - coinciding with the point on the surface. Is there a smart way of changing that - or a better way of making tangent planes all together? Thanks,Anne See More
