"the only clue there is the PG_ prefix. I'd say the plugins that might use PG are Panda and Plankton."

Error when starting Grasshopper

This error doesn't provide any actual path.. which drives me crazy. Any idea about what caused it & how to solve it by any chance? These are my installed…See More

Daniel Piker replied to Addin's discussion Point Mesh (Unclosed) collision in the group Kangaroo
"In the file you posted it looks like the problem is actually that the mesh being created by the 'Simple Mesh' component is not closed, even when the Brep is. If a quad mesh has T-junction vertices like this: then Rhino sees the mesh as…"

"Hi Michael, Is there any chance that you may share the file (or perhaps part of the file if sensitive) of your example shown above? That looks super fascinating.  Thank you so much!!"

Point Mesh (Unclosed) collision

I just came across this theoretical question while playing with the chain collision.I found that there is not a Collision between surface & points, only solid. In almost all the examples/videos i have seen so far, people tend to use a flat box to represent a collision surface. When I tried to make a thin extrusion of a surface to trick the effect, it doesn't work unless I make it pretty thick. I don't understand. How does the thickness take part in the computation of collision? Shouldn't it…See More

"Hi Daniel, Great to see your update! It works really well, especially after a bit tune of the strengths to prevent them from breaking apart.  I am wondering about another issue about the rigid collision of Kangaroo. Since it is a bit different…"

Daniel Piker replied to Addin's discussion Houdini Kangaroo Comparison in the group Kangaroo
"Hi Addin, I don't know Houdini very well, but have a rough idea of what it does, and would say that's a fair assessment. Kangaroo was indeed created primarily as a design tool. So the focus has been on form-finding and optimisation,…"

"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_prYEip-w8 I am quite interested in the chain effect that shown in the video above. Is there a easy way to simulate this in Kangaroo? "

Houdini Kangaroo Comparison

Just a really general question.I am wondering about the pros & cons between Houdini & Kangaroo, since both of them are doing physical simulation. It feels like Houdini these days has been focusing on filming & animation industry, while Grasshopper with Kangaroo is more of a designers' tool. It's just my brief observation from the online resources today. Are there anyone familiar with both of them? What are the advantages of Kangaroo over Houdini? Vice versa? See More

Addin replied to Declan Halpin's discussion Newbie question re: hinge + collision in the group Kangaroo
"Yeah it is helpful! However you are using points Coincident instead of the Hinge to achieve the effect. I wonder about the reason why you didn't use the Hinge. "

"Hi Daniel, I am also new to Kangaroo 2. Is there a way to achieve the same effect using the Hinge? Thx!"
