Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

It seems that pipes with flat ends give some strange results with the volume and inclusion components.

negative_volume.ghx

I tested this in Rhino4 and 5 with the same result, GH 0.8.0013

Yup, totally repeatable. Definitely a bug, closed Breps should always be oriented correctly.

any hope for a fix? the negative volume does not seem to be a critical bug, but the reversed-union-and-intersection-bug definitively is (to me). and they seem to be related.

cheers,

I've just* switched to the new Rhino5 Pipe SDK function and it appears that pipes are now properly oriented. Volumes are all positive.

*yesterday in fact.

Hey David,

I JUST installed the new Rhino 5 and installed Grasshopper, and this was one of the first things I checked. But I'm still finding that pipes aren't union-ing correctly. Intersection is still doing Union and the other way around.

Did I do something wrong? This would be great to figure out. I'd be so thankful, since it seems yours is working!

yep, same here. i'm on build 0.9.0006 now, but still got negative volumes? hadn't got the time to check earlier, but shouldn't that been fixed since v0.8.0050?

This will not get fixed until the next Grasshopper goes out, no matter what your Rhino version.
