This video shows the output of a Grasshopper definition that projects the shadows of objects onto a sloped planar surface, and then separates the surfaces into separate groups of shaded and unshaded areas.

Have you used VB?, only GH components? I've tried to make something similar but i couldn't make that it works properly :(
